Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Vela is an AI-powered job search automation tool. It searches job boards on your behalf, scores job listings for fit against your profile, and generates tailored resume drafts using your real career background. Resumes are delivered to your email as Word documents. You may optionally connect Google Drive to receive copies there as well.

2. User Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate and truthful career information during onboarding. Vela writes resumes based solely on what you tell us.
• You are responsible for reviewing all resume drafts before submitting them to any employer. Vela generates drafts and does not guarantee their accuracy or suitability for any specific application.
• You must not use Vela to misrepresent your qualifications, fabricate experience, or submit false information to employers.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.

3. No Guarantee of Employment Outcomes

Vela does not guarantee interviews, job offers, or any specific employment outcome. The tool automates parts of the job search process, but success depends on many factors outside our control, including employer decisions, market conditions, and your qualifications.

4. Subscription Terms

• Vela Basic — free for one week, then no continued access without upgrading.
• Vela Plus — $6/week (weekly billing) or $20/month (monthly billing). 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Vela Pro — $8/week (weekly billing) or $28/month (monthly billing). 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future charges.
• Weekly subscribers: All weekly charges are final after the free trial period. You retain access through the end of your current billing week.
• Monthly subscribers: A pro-rated refund is issued for unused days when you cancel. Service continues for 2 hours after cancellation, giving you time to change your mind and reactivate.
• Vela reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

5. Prohibited Uses

• Using Vela to generate resumes with fabricated credentials, false job titles, or invented metrics.
• Using Vela to submit mass or spam applications without reviewing each resume.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit any part of the Vela platform.
• Sharing your account credentials with others.

6. Cover Letter Generation

Cover letters are generated by AI and may require editing before submission. Vela does not guarantee any cover letter will result in an interview or job offer. You are responsible for reviewing and customizing cover letters before submitting them to employers. Always ensure cover letters accurately reflect your qualifications and the specific job opportunity.

7. Account Deletion & Data Retention

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Upon deletion, your account will be scheduled for permanent removal after 30 days. During this 30-day period, you may log in to reactivate your account. After 30 days, all personal data will be permanently deleted. Phone numbers are retained in hashed form for an additional 30 days to prevent abuse of the free trial system.

8. Custom Job Requests

Pro users may submit up to 10 custom job requests per week. Submitted job information is stored to prevent duplicate results in future searches. This allows Vela to provide better-targeted results while avoiding repeated analysis of the same job opportunities.

9. URL Safety

Vela screens job listing URLs for known malicious patterns but cannot guarantee the safety of all external links. You should exercise caution when visiting external job application pages and verify URLs before submitting sensitive information. Never share passwords or payment details with third-party job sites.

10. Master Resume Upload

Resume documents uploaded during onboarding are processed to extract work history, skills, and other career information. Uploaded files are not stored permanently — only the extracted text data is retained in your profile. This allows Vela to use your background information for resume generation without maintaining redundant file copies.

11. Job Listing Disclaimer

Vela Career aggregates job listings from third-party sources including job boards, company career pages, and public job APIs. While we employ automated filters to screen out fraudulent, expired, and unsafe listings, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, legitimacy, or safety of every job posting displayed on our platform.

Job listings are provided as-is from third-party sources. Some roles may be filled, removed, or relocated by the time you click Apply — this is a normal limitation of aggregated job data and is not a Vela error. If a link is broken or a position is no longer listed, the role has likely been closed by the employer.

Vela Career is not responsible for the content, hiring practices, or conduct of any employer or third-party job board whose listings appear on our platform. Users are encouraged to independently verify any job opportunity before applying, and to never provide sensitive personal or financial information during the initial application process.

If you encounter a suspicious listing, please report it to support@velacareer.com so we can investigate and remove it promptly.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Arizona.
